As I said, I enjoy a game of poker although I am not much good at it, my wife is great at it, but she prefers to go down to the local bingo hall down the road once a week with her mates so she can have a "natter". On those nights I used to play poker with a few acquaintances. We would take it in turn as to whose house we would go to, the chosen host would supply the drinks and nibbles. It was great until one by one, they either got made redundant and so could not play (Not that we played for big bucks, although depending on the alcohol intake it did sometimes get out of hand I have to say!), moved away or even worse, got married. So, here I am and nobody to play with. Billy no mates!
Now, I have only ever been to a real live casino once before in my life, and to be honest I found it quite frightening. I am not the big confident social type of person that one tends to meet at these places, I found it quite intimidating, and worse than that, I did not have the confidence to actually sit down and play poker. Instead, because I was scared I lost more than enough on the Slots, at the Roulette Table and too much to drink. Much chastising of the wife. So what is the alternative?
Well having thought about it for quite some time, and being the kind of person that enjoys his own company accompanied by a bottle of red wine, ( or two! ), I decided I would take the plunge and have a go at playing at an online casino. So, where do I start? I have heard my friends talk about online gambling in the past and how you can get great sign-up bonuses and all that, but just shrugged it off as a waste of money and time, a lack of experience, I don't know, it just never appealed to me. But now I am in a different position. No confidence to go to the real place, no-one left to play with, I had to give it a go, but where?
There are so many of these online gambling sites offering what appears to be great sign-up deals, but you have to look at is the terms and conditions to qualify for the bonuses and the bonus structure. Then there is the other minefield, if you do happen to win, it's getting hold of your winnings that could be a bigger problem than how much bonus you got. Cashing Out as they call it so you get hold of your money can be a nightmare if you haven't met all of the depositing terms, this was one of the biggest problems, and they don't always make it easy to work out if you don't have some kind of law degree!
There was one site that had over $4,000,000 in a progressive jackpot, but if you won it you can only take A10,000 out a month, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say no, but how long is that going to take to get paid out? Well with all this in mind I decided to have a look online for some reviews, whether biased or not, I might learn something before diving in. I found there were some good ones with plenty of information and a there were a lot with poor offerings and little more than adverts. I eventually found a an online gambling directory that I liked the look of and had relevant information that satisfied me to finally take the plunge and join up to somewhere online, and I have to say, I do the enjoy the experience.
Conclusion
From my point of view, there is a need for the likes of an online gambling directory, I suppose as there is for other services such as plumbing or decorating, the only thing here is that I am sure these plumbers and decorators are being totally honest, where online gambling directories could certainly sway from the truth just to get you to sign-up, but finding one with good resources and knowledgeable information is a bonus.
